The Design/Inventor team has the important job of designing parts before the Manufacturing team ever makes them. Right after kickoff, we immediately begin to work on the overall design of that year's robot. Each part to be used on the robot is drawn separately. Parts are then constrained together into different sub-sections. Then, we make 2D drawings of all these parts for Manufacturing to make.

The Design team uses Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009, a 3D drafting program, to design and assemble all the parts of the robot. We also submit the drawings we make each year for the Autodesk Inventor Award (an award given by Autodesk and FIRST which recognizes excellence in robot design).
