My name is Dane Rodgers, and this is my 6th year on the team. During high school, I was part of the Engineering Explorers program through Eli Lilly. At the time, I appreciated the volunteer engineers who took time to educate potential future engineers, and it allowed me to get a better idea of the professional world at a young age. When the opportunity to join Cyberblue came along, it was my way of reversing the role and teaching future engineers himself. On the team, I work out the physics, mechanics, and manufacturability of a component of the robot. I also help with the general robot design and strategy are other activities. My favorite competition was Grand Rapids 2006. It was excited to see six robots shooting Nerf balls all over the place. Through Cyber Blue, I passed on, hopefully, a better understanding of a real world design process and what it takes to go from a model on the computer screen to building and competing with a robot. My goal for this year is to get a robot built in time to test.but my REALISTIC goal is to make a more robust design that requires less mainte0.ance between rounds.
