So I am pretty excited to hear that they moved the competition date of the vex competition, which origionally was scheduled for the same weekend as FRC Championship, to the weekend of April 14-16. More impressively, it will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World Florida. Just thought I would share this with the team because I know one of our goals was to get the vex team qualified for championships. With the old dates, getting them to dalls would have been tough. Now we may actually be able to get them qualified and a few people travel there*.

*- to quilify though, you have to win the competition. We have not been very good over there lately, but we're improving. So this statement has just a slight chance of actually occuring. That is unless we get a lot of support and fresh ideas.. :D

If you'd like to take a look at what Lego teams around the world will be up to this fall take a look at this link. This video shows you the missions that the robots are to complete in 2.5 minutes. Looks pretty awesome, right?

This year I'm working with the Lego team again at Douglas. I've been in contact with Mrs. Joyce the teacher sponsor there and I'm going to meet with her tomorrow to talk about some details about this season. We want to meet tuesdays and thursdays. Their school isn't over until about 3:30. Our meeting would probably last until 4:30 or 5 depending on what we need done for the day and how cooperative the kids are. But, we can work out the logistics later...

Lego is really fun. I love doing it every year. The kids are hilarious. It's really awesome seeing their them get really into it. Thursday, September 16th, 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. is a shopping trip to purchase food items for Hunger, Inc. Food Pantry. We will be using some of the proceeds from the IRI charity auction.
Meet at the robotics doors at 5:30 and we'll carpool from there. We'll split into teams and see which team can spend all their money, without going over! (Hint: Bring your calculators and a pen and paper!)
