I was introduced to FIRST on my spring break trip to Florida in 3rd grade. My oldest brother was looking to join the team, so we stopped by the Championship Competition that was going on at EPCOT to find out more about the program. I was less than thrilled to be there, mainly because I had no idea what was going on. Since that fateful day, my family has been completely submerged into all that is FIRST. I eventually learned to love FIRST. I am now entering my second year on the team, and I enjoy every minute I spend with the team. I have learned a lot of very useful skills from the team. I am on the manufacturing sub team and am currently learning how to use the lathe. I plan to go to college after high school, but I have absolutely no idea what I want to study. I’m just trying to learn as much as I can and I know that everything I learn from the team will be useful in one way or another later in my life.
