My name is Kevin Kelly, and this is my 10th year on the team. For the most part, all the mentors/engineers are involved in most of the sub teams to some degree. We are all involved in strategy, design, manufacturing, and assembly of the robot. My main sub team would be manufacturing and assembly. One of my goals is to help the students understand what a .001 of an inch is and what it means in the manufacturing and assembly of a robot. I enjoy showing the students the proper use of cutting tools used in the industry today and try to keep tools updated that we use on the mill and lathe. Some of my favorite memories include winning our FIRST National Award in Florida (Delphi's Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award), our FIRST Chairman's Award and seeing Scott Ritchie and Chris Fultz win their Woody Flowers Awards. I enjoy the six week build season (and I know spring is right around the corner) with the mentors and students. Traveling and participating with the team to the regional and championship events are always full of great memories.
